Jakarta (ANTARA) - Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana confirmed that tourist activity and destinations in Bali remain unaffected despite recent flooding on the island.
She made the statement during her visit to several flood-affected areas on Saturday (September 13).
According to the ministry's press release on Sunday, Wardhana accompanied President Prabowo Subianto during his inspection of Gajah Mada Street in Denpasar, one of the areas impacted by the flood.
The President and his entourage visited residential neighborhoods, including Gang IV alley, where they spoke with local residents.
The visit continued to Kumbasari Market, where President Prabowo and Minister Wardhana greeted the public and conveyed their sympathy and condolences to those affected.
“We extend our deepest condolences to the victims and their families. We hope to recover together and rebuild Denpasar, Bali, and other areas even better,” Wardhana said.
The President’s presence, she said, reflects the government’s commitment and message that the state is present to support its people.
The government, together with relevant stakeholders, has prepared recovery measures and programs for affected regions in Bali, she added.
Addressing the impact of the floods on the tourism sector, she ensured that there has been no significant effect on tourism activities.
She noted that no cancellations have been reported from either domestic or international visitors.
According to her, Bali remains open to tourists seeking a quality and sustainable travel experience.
She also acknowledged the issuance of travel warnings by several countries, which she described as a standard precaution.
“The important thing is that the government, including the Bali regional government, has worked hard to improve the situation. God willing, Bali is ready to welcome tourists,” she stated.

The global cost of living in 2025 remains a tale of two worlds. Zurich, Singapore, and New York continue to dominate as the most expensive cities, with housing, groceries, and services straining budgets. Meanwhile, emerging economies like Nigeria, Afghanistan, and parts of Southeast Asia offer starkly lower living costs, creating fertile ground for expats seeking affordability and quality of life. For investors, this divergence presents a unique opportunity: to capitalize on real estate and passive income streams in markets where demand for housing, tourism, and remote work is surging.
