Freak Storm with Heavy winds hit Bali last night, causing flash floods and river overflows.

This storm was highly unusual, with winds coming from the southeast, a direction that typically brings dry trade winds.

Because of the severe flooding, many staff members at PT Bali Luxury Villas are unable to leave their homes.

The flooding has been exacerbated by debris that has built up in rivers and subaks (irrigation systems) over the past several months.

Today is also a major Balinese holiday, Pagerwasi.

If you are in Bali, it is highly recommended that you stay home unless it's an emergency. This will help keep the roads clear for first responders and essential personnel.

For those of you visiting Bali, particularly in the Sanur area, this is a perfect day to stay indoors.

We are fortunate that we still have power and internet. Consider using this time to take a break and relax—go see a movie at Icon Mall , read a book, or just enjoy a quiet day inside.

We are fortunate that Bali's dry season has a large majority of sunny days.

Even during the wet season, it's rare for an entire day to be without any sun, as rain often comes in short, heavy bursts.

Don't panic, take it easy, and this too shall pass.
