KBRN, Bali: Bali has reaffirmed its position as the world's best tourist destination by winning the title of “The Best Island” in the DestinAsian Readers' Choice Awards 2025. This award was received directly by the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Ni Luh Puspa, in an event held at Ayana Resort Hotel Jimbaran, Friday (7/3/2025).
"Thank you for choosing Bali as ‘The Best Island’. This shows that Bali is still top of mind for tourists to travel to Indonesia," said Ni Luh, as quoted from her official statement.
Bali ranked first, ahead of the Maldives, Boracay (Philippines), Phuket (Thailand), Phu Quoc (Vietnam), Palawan (Philippines), Koh Samui (Thailand), Langkawi (Malaysia), Penang (Malaysia), and Lombok (Indonesia).
Ni Luh dedicates this award to the people of Bali, the local government, and all tourism industry players who have maintained Bali's natural beauty, cultural richness, and tourist attractions. She hopes this award can inspire other tourist destinations in Indonesia to continue to improve for the better.
“Hopefully this achievement can also be an inspiration for all of us to continue to advance the tourism industry, and introduce other extraordinary Indonesian destinations to the world,” Ni Luh said.
The Indonesian government is committed to developing quality and sustainable tourism, by involving communities, local governments, and industry.
“Let's join hands to develop and advance Indonesian tourism,” said Ni Luh.
The DestinAsian Readers' Choice Awards is an annual event recognizing excellence in the tourism industry across the Asia-Pacific region. For the past 18 years, these awards have been determined by the loyal readership of DestinAsian Magazine.
