🚧 Bali's Sanur Streets Get an Upgrade: Widened Sidewalks Mean No More Main Road Parking 🚶♀️Vehicles now being Towed

Last month, the Village of Sanur advised our management at PT. Bali Luxury Villas that parking for cars and motorcycles would no longer be permitted on the main thoroughfare of Jalan Tambligan..

This major change is happening because the village is widening the sidewalks on both sides, nearly doubling their width. While this fantastic improvement will greatly enhance pedestrian safety and walkability, it unfortunately eliminates the space needed for parking.
Major parking areas are being set up where people can park their cars and motorcycles and then either take a ride share program or the new electric bus to their destination on the main road.
The good news is that drop-offs and pick-ups are still allowed. The only restriction is actual parking.
This is a significant improvement in Sanur which past year or so has seen serious gridlock traffic from time to time due to poor parking by everyone on the main road. Now traffic is flowing much better than most other resort areas of Bali.
We view this as a significant positive move for our community, even if it causes a temporary inconvenience for some employees.
Of course, the immediate question is always about enforcement. Will the new rules actually be followed?
According our my head of security, the answer is a resounding yes!
He shared a recent video this morning showing village staff actively towing cars that were illegally parked on Jalan Tambligan.

It’s just one more positive step forward for our wonderful village, a place we have proudly loved and lived in for the last 27 years.
