Prost! Inside Skål Club Bali's Smash-Hit Oktoberfest Lunch: Networking, German Feasts, and a Cash Prize!
Why Bali's Top Tourism Professionals Don't Miss the Monthly Skål Lunch
Once a month, on the first Friday, the movers and shakers of Bali’s tourism and hotel industry—from top Hotel Managers and owners to associated industry professionals—gather for the legendary Skål Club Bali lunch. This is not your typical corporate networking event. While we raise a glass for the traditional Skål toast, the focus is on friendship, fun, and connecting with the island's best. Business cards are secondary; building genuine relationships is the goal!
This club is a powerhouse in the global tourism world. Having been a member for over 20 years, I’ve seen our numbers soar from a small group of 20 to nearly 200 members today. Skål International Bali is consistently ranked as one of the top Skål Clubs in the world, part of the massive Skål Worldwide organization. If you want to meet the "who's who" of Bali tourism, this is the place to be.
Oktoberfest in Bali: Das Bistro by Mamas Delivers a German Masterpiece
Our latest gathering was an absolute triumph: a spectacular Oktoberfest themed lunch that transported over 150 members and guests straight to Munich! The personal responsibility for this incredible event fell to Stefan Mueller, the General Manager of Das Bistro by Mamas—arguably Bali’s finest German restaurant and food supplier, located conveniently on the Bypass near Galleri Mall.
Stefan and his team set up a huge, authentic German-style tent, complete with lively German music playing all afternoon. It was the perfect atmosphere for networking and indulging!
The German Feast: Free Flow and Delicious Pork Knuckles
Members were treated to the usual excellent free flow of beer and wine, generously provided by Beer and Hot & Wines. For those wanting a true Bavarian experience, an assortment of exotic German beers was available at special stalls for a small fee.
The cuisine was the star of the show, a truly authentic German spread:
It began with a comforting potato soup.
The main event featured various traditional German pork dishes, including mouthwatering pork knuckles.
We finished on a sweet note with classic Apple Strudel.
Prizes, Parting, and a Post-Lunch Celebration
The afternoon was capped off with a raffle prize drawing. We were lucky enough to receive one of the top prizes this past week, which added an extra bit of excitement (and a nice cash prize) to an already fantastic day!
We wrapped up just before 3:00 PM to allow the venue to prepare for their evening event, but the fun wasn't over. A close group of friends simply moved over to Mamas to finish our conversations. All in all, a brilliant afternoon of professional camaraderie!
